New requirements for directors introduced under the Companies Amendment Act 2014
All companies registered in New Zealand must now have at least one director who lives in New Zealand, or lives in Australia and is also a director of a company incorporated in Australia. If the director lives in Australia and is a director of a company incorporated in Australia, the director will need to provide the details of an Australian company (i.e. – its name, registered office address and Australian Company Number (ACN)) that they are a director of. These requirements are to be met by 28 October 2015. Any company that does not comply by this date will be removed from the companies register.
